THE LOFT HOUSE - A CONTEMPORARY RURAL DWELLING

The traditional forms of local barns with steep roofs and high level ‘loft’ windows provided the inspiration for the form of this house with it’s slender volume and distinctive pitched roof. Internally the rooms are arranged to frame views of distinctive features in the landscape; a horse chestnut tree, a hill, an old barn, rooting the house in it’s surroundings.
