AN OPEN PLAN COLLABORATIVE ENVIRONMENT DESIGNED TO BRING TOGETHER 2 SEPARATE UNIVERSITY FACULTIES WITH AN EMPHASIS ON COLLABORATION AND INNOVATION. THE BUILDING IS A MEDICAL RESEARCH CENTRE FOR PREVENTION & TREATMENT OF DISEASE. IT IS DESIGNED TO PASSIVE STANDARD AND USES AN INNOVATIVE UNDERGROUND CONCRETE ‘LABYRINTH’ SYSTEM & INTERNAL ATRIUM TO PASSIVELY COOL AIR & VENTILATE THE BUILDING. MY ROLE WHILST WORKING AT MAKE ARCHITECTS WAS AS PROJECT ARCHITECT AT TENDER STAGE RESPONSIBLE FOR DETAIL DESIGN OF THE PROJECT WITH PARTICULAR FOCUS ON THE FACADE AND EXTERNAL ENVELOPE ELEMENTS.
